On May 26, 25 students from 3ᵉ collège S. Signoret de Bruay-la-Buissière had the exceptional opportunity to discover the National Assembly in Paris, as part of the Cordées de la Réussite program. Accompanied by their teachers, Mme Thellier and M. Dauchez, the students enjoyed an unforgettable day.
This trip is fully in line with the objectives of the Cordées de la Réussite, a national program designed to combat self-censorship and encourage the academic ambitions of young people, particularly those from remote areas. By building bridges between secondary and higher education establishments, this program helps students project themselves into ambitious, open-ended career paths.
A visit to the French National Assembly was a highlight of the program. Welcomed to one of the most emblematic sites of French democracy, the students were able to go behind the scenes of legislative power, admire the architectural richness of the Palais Bourbon and better understand the role of deputies in the service of the Republic. There was plenty to talk about, and their curiosity was aroused, as 11 of the 25 students had never been to Paris before.

The supervisors also praised the organization of the day and the quality of the explanations given during the visit. It was an unforgettable experience for students and adults alike.
A fine illustration of what the Cordées de la Réussite program is all about: opening horizons, nurturing ambitions and building bridges to the future.
