Objectives and opportunities

The B.U.T. R&T Cyber Security program is designed to train specialists in New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT). During the course, students develop skills in:
– Administration of networks and operating systems,
– Computer science,
– Deployment of fiber optics and mobile telephony (4G and 5G),
– Corporate telephony,
– Cyber security. The B.U.T. gives access to senior technician and middle management positions specializing in networks (netician) in any company using NTIC (New Information and Communication Technologies). The sectors of activity are extremely varied:
– Computer networks and telecommunications sector, SMEs, local authorities…
– Service companies and network equipment manufacturers
– Telecoms operators and equipment manufacturers and Internet service providers
– Maintenance and installation of corporate communications systems
– IT engineering service companies
– Development of new needs in the fields of healthcare (telemedicine, information traceability…), intelligent building (home automation, deployment of fiber optics…).
The Cybersecurity pathway trains senior technicians to analyze the risks of attacks threatening a company’s information systems (networks, servers, workstations, etc.). This enables them to define the company’s security policy, to set the framework for the use of digital resources, and to raise awareness and train users. He or she is also able to apply within the company the law, in particular the RGPD, and government recommendations (ANSSI) imposed by the current context.
The cybersecurity course therefore opens the door to professions such as: corporate network technicians in cybersecurity, security solutions administrator, technical security auditor, SOC (Security Operation Center) analyst operator, security solutions integrator, Data center administrator.

Prerequisites

For admission to 1st year BAC général scientifique ou technologique DAEU or equivalent diploma. For admission to the 2nd or 3rd year, you must have a first or 2nd year scientific degree.

The ideal BAC

The Networks and Telecommunications diploma (BUT) recruits general baccalaureate holders with a scientific baccalaureate, as well as technological baccalaureate holders with a STI2D baccalaureate.
