On Wednesday, February 4, we welcomed two representatives fromUNIT: the Digital University of Engineering and Technology. Vincent Beillevaire (Executive Director) and Cyril Bai (Project Director) came to presentthe Thematic Digital University (UNT) to all staff at the Béthune campus: IUT, FSA, and EIA.
First, they outlined the various initiatives undertaken by this UNT, including current projects (SONATE, Punchy) as well as upcoming projects (plapima, Vinum, etc.) and the foundation’s organizational structure.
We also learned about the pilot projects already underway with the University of Artois, such asthe use of a social robot called “Buddy” from Bluefrog, which was provided to the IUT for testing as part of a pilot project focused on the visual detection of PPE use.
The next experiment will focus on AI.
The goal of these various trials is to provide educational institutions with tools and equipment free of charge, in exchange for testing them and providing feedback on these trials. The idea is to share knowledge with all UNIT member institutions.
A discussion with the speakers followed the presentation, providing participants with information on how to get involved in the various projects and pilot programs that were presented.
To wrap up the morning, Sohaib LAFIFI (Vice President for Digital Affairs at the University of Artois) presentedthe university’s digital offerings for education, highlighting its four main areas: organization, education, career guidance, and assessment.
